Job Description:

We are looking for the services of "Nutrition Capacity Building Officer "

Travel requirement

  • 50%

Qualification

  • Master’s degree in Nutrition/ Public Health / Nursing/ Social Science or related field with four years of experience in implementation of the Health and Nutrition programs.

To document and share the details of working groups under the guidance of relevant government bodies.

  • To ensure that ER2 is explained and projected properly at all relevant forums.
  • Support in organizing capacity building sessions/trainings on CMAM, IYCF, BCC, HSS for partners and other stakeholders.
  • To support Senior Nutrition Manager in convening meetings, visits and update plans.
  • To provide an over view of ground situation through conducting field visits.
  • To support Senior Nutrition Manager in conducting reviews of progress as per DIP and document any shortcomings/challenges. 
  • To support in facilitation, the visits of district, provincial, capital or HQ related staff.
  • Allocate 50% of time to field visits.
  • Ensure support for surveys or any emergency assessment on ad hoc basis.
  • Ensure/facilitate trainings and workshops.
  • Compile the meeting minutes and other relevant reports.
  • Ensure archiving of all relevant documents on Action Against Hunger share point and in hard files.
  • Review the monthly progress of the partners at district level.
  • To prepare briefings on progress with consultation of government bodies related to AAP at district and divisional level.
  • Provide the technical input on the implementation.
  • Supervise project activities at OTP sites, outreach and NSC as per standard protocols.
  • Monitor nutrition supplies, IM tools & availability of equipment to the partners at warehouse
  • Reconciliation of MedSFU and tracking of the supplies chain and procurement of the supplies
  • Keep track of budget of the technical component of programme and report on it.
  • Develop analytical reports and presentations on the basis of observations about programme implementation.
  • Support in procurements of the technical component of programme and report on them.
  • To visit partners warehouse on monthly basis.
  • To provide supportive supervision in terms of challenges/issues.
  • Review the NSC progress and documents on monthly basis.
  • Develop picture gallery of project activities and share to communication department.
  • Know and understand Action Against Hunger mandate, Humanitarian principals and the current program.
  • With the Senior Nutrition Manager, develop coherent messages and pass them about Action Against Hunger mandate, program objectives and approach.
  • Support liaison of the technical component with partner organizations and external stakeholders (government and non-government) and represent ACF as and when needed.
  • Build trust between Action Against Hunger with the stakeholders and community.
  • Proactively support ACFs commitments to gender equality and child protection sensitivity
  • Read and ensure a full understanding and promotion of ACFs Gender Minimum Standards & Child Protection Policies
  • Implement all work related activities with a gender, inclusion and child protection lens, taking into account the different needs, concerns and ideas of our staff and beneficiaries
  • Ensure and encourage the incorporation of gender equity principles in all policies and activities
  • Help build an inclusive office environment where people do not feel disadvantaged or judged according to their gender or limited due to manageable disability.

Skills and resources needed to perform the function

  • Able to analyze and summarize complex technical  and contextual information
  • Fluent in English, reading writing and speaking and/or local language of the program implementation area.
  • The Sindhi language will be the added advantage.
  • Work experience with government health care system is an added advantage.
  •  Experience of working in partnership with or directly with the health department is preferable
  • Ability to plan and organize work independently with appropriate follow-through while paying close attention to detail and can read and abstract information from a variety of formats.
  • Ability to delegate and follow up of task among teams
  • Ability to manage a wide range of stakeholders for collaboration, coordination, and consultation
