| Job Description: |
Aga Khan Health Service, Pakistan is looking for seasoned and dynamic Pharmacy Assistant for its Healthcare facility in Aliabad at Gilgit Region.
Assists in pharmacy operations as per the standard protocols and facilitate patient counseling about drug usage and doses.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Establish the pharmacy stores in a professional and legal way
- To monitor drug distribution for inpatient dispensing system
- Provide appropriate guidance to the pharmacy staff in stock replenishment, maintaining Stock Register, proper requisition, IR, GRN, SRN and C. Shop
- To regular update drug issuing in system on daily basis
- To follow and maintaining Duty Roster in pharmacy
- Monitor the expiry and dead stock
- Ensure proper coordination in surgical/medical supplies
- Timely send medicine demand to purchase department Regional Office Chitral
- Keep clean and update pharmacy area
- Near to expiry medicine timely return to Pharmacy supply officer in Regional Office
- Issuing the drugs as per prescriptions of the physicians to the concerned staff for inpatient
- For outpatient, providing drugs as per prescription
- Suggesting alternatives with same salts to the patients
- Ensuring that controlled drugs and narcotics are issued only upon prescription
- Timely maintaining controlled drugs sale register
- By keeping the shelves clean and tidy
- Coordinating with admin to ensure the availability of janitorial staff
- Recording medicine area and fridge’s temperature
- By explaining prescription
- Timings and dosage.By informing patients about possible interactions and side effects
- Guiding about substitutes
- Shelving the stock on principle of FIFO.Ensuring that right batch is sold first
- Keeping bouncing register updated
- Moving near expiry stock as per SOP to warehouse and requesting replenishment
- Placing orders to meet any requirements.
Education, Experience & Competencies
- 4 years practical experience in the relevant field
- Pharmacy/Dispenser Certificate from a recognized institution and registered Concerned authority / category B
- Good Communication Skills
- Recognizes the safety hazards and takes appropriate action if required
