| Job Description: |
Key Responsibilities:
-
Using MarkUp languages like HTML to create user-friendly web pages.
-
Maintaining and improving websites.
-
Optimising applications for maximum speed.
-
Building and maintaining innovative features.
-
Making decisions and providing continuous support for better output.
-
Restructuring / Optimizing hosting environments and servers.
-
Close collaboration with internal support and business teams.
-
Active role in coordination and identification of development activities.
-
PSD to HTML and PSD to Wordpress.
-
Designing Mobile based features.
-
Collaborating with Back-end developers and web designers to improve usability.
-
Design, deployment and maintenance of web-based application tools and interfaces.
-
Wordpress theme, plugin and widget development.
-
Get feedback from and build solutions for, users and customers.
-
Write functional requirements documents and guides.
-
Create quality mockups and prototypes.
-
Help Back-end developers with coding and troubleshooting.
-
Ensure high quality graphic standards and brand consistency.
-
Stay up to date on emerging technologies.
Qualifications:
Required:
-
Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or equivalent STEM background
-
Proven work experience as a front-end developer.
-
Hands on experience with markUp languages.
-
Experience with Javascript, CSS and JQuery.
-
Familiarity with Browser testing and debugging.
-
In-Depth understanding of the entire web development process (Design, Development and deployment).
-
Understanding of layout aesthetics.
-
Basic knowledge of SEO principles.
-
Excellent knowledge of softwares like Adobe suite, and content management systems especially wordpress.
-
Ability to perform well in fast paced environments.
-
Excellent analytics and multi tasking skills.
-
Knowledge of Mac OS X, Windows and Linux and their command line interfaces.
-
Proven record of deploying applications to shared / Private server environments.
-
Familiarity with version control systems and CI/CD tools e.g. Git, GitHub.
-
Excellent written and oral communication skills and fluency in English
Desirable:
-
Postgraduate degree in Computer Science
-
Experience in working with database systems.
-
Wordpress, Ecommerce frameworks, CMS systems to name a few.
-
Postgraduate qualification in Computer Science or related discipline
-
Experience working with VMware or other virtualization software
-
Networking tools and technologies
-
Knowledge of ITIL best practices
