Background/IRC Summary:
The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is a leading global relief and development organization, established in 1933, and currently working in 42 countries worldwide. IRC has been working in Pakistan for over 30 years, and manages & delivers large, complex programs to meet needs in health, education, protection and livelihoods for displaced, poor & conflict-affected communities. IRC works in partnership with local government and non-governmental organizations and currently works in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Sindh provinces.
Job Overview/Summary:
Working in IRC medical team, supervising, mentoring and on the job training of health care providers including, lady health visitors and female medical technicians in districts health facilities on long term and permanent family planning methods and PAC. Coordinate and report to medical team for additional training based on gaps identified.
Major Responsibilities:
1. Being trained in long term & permanent FP methods and PAC services provide on the job training to the health care providers in the selected facilities in all districts.
2. Provide appropriate technical assistance according to project indicators.
3. Review and refine infection prevention protocols to ensure proper implementation
4. Record all the information regarding long term and permanent FP methods and PAC procedures according to SBMR & provides weekly & monthly reports of different IRC supported districts facilities,
5. Review and analyze the information to present utilization trends based on monitoring indicators.
6. Identify gaps in practical skills of the staff and then propose for training & refreshers
7. Conduct field visits to ensure proper implementation of quality services in FP and PAC at the facilities in the districts & coordinates with IRC lady doctors for arranging campaigns of LTFP ( Implant Insertion and removal methods) in project districts.
Participation in coordination meeting with Ministry of Health, Implementing patners(MOH,IPs)
8. Perform other relevant tasks as required.
Job Requirements:
Education:
Graduation with diploma in midwifery/LHV recognized by the Nursing Council of Pakistan
Work Experience:
Experience of at least two years in reproductive health and FP will be preferred
Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:
· Work experience in maternity hospital or MCH preferred.
· Training background in FP and PAC
· Ms excel/computer literacy is must
