Assignment
Under the supervision of the Project Manager, the Hygiene Promoter is responsible for supporting the implementation of all interventions matching with ACTED’s quality criteria and strategy, and for developing open, mutually respectful, and accountable relationships with the target communities.
He / She is fully responsible of his / her activities in terms of quality and dead line.
Functions
Key responsibilities :
A. Implementation of hygiene Activities
·1 Participates in need assessments, WASH activities, feasibility studies, stakeholder analyses and community consultations;
·2 Identification of trainings needs in community, delivery of designed trainings, participate and follow up of CLTS and WASH activities
·3 Supports the development of agreements and MoUs with community based organizations or other civil society groups.
·4 Elaborate all needs based inputs and all other activities according to the objectives of the programme and the beneficiary involvement strategy of ACTED.
·5 Mobilizes the community in the effective use of the community resources for hygiene promotion.
·6 Mobilize communities for the prioritizing of recovery activities and strategies.
·7 Facilitates the capacity building and setup of representative community committees (steering committees).
·8 Ensure, through daily dialogues and consultations that the strategy of the projects and the commitments of the various stakeholders are adhered to.
·10 Responsible for mainstreaming gender
·11 Maximize beneficiary contribution.
·12 Participate in NFI, and Hygiene promotion kits distributions whenever required.
·13 Supports in the development and distribution of IEC materials for all activities implemented.
·14 The CFW Facilitator should develop in-depth knowledge of all their villages of intervention and should have close contacts with community leaders, volunteers, and activists.
·15 Support and supervise daily skilled and unskilled workers / project volunteers and give them useful instruction regarding their work improvement, through coordination with the relevant skilled staff;
·16 Providing technical guidance, training and support to individuals targeted by each project in line with the programme strategy and intended output[s];
·17 Ensure on time completion of the tasks in line with BoQs and designs;
·18 Liaising with programme staff of other ACTED teams to ensure that information is shared and that lessons learned are developed.
·19 Supervise the unloading of the material on site as well as quality and quantity of the items
·20 Properly record the attendance and payment detail during the training and distribution activities.
B. Documentation
·1 Fill, Check & control daily Workers attendance sheet on daily basis;
·2 Ensure construction logbook and other documentation requested by the line manager is correctly completed.
·3 Control that construction materials and tools are used properly, and complete waybills to accompany any movement of stock/tools between locations in the field / between the base and field.
·4 Properly record the attendance and payment detail during the training and distribution activities.
C. Additional Responsibilities
- This job description is not intended to be all inclusive and the employee will also perform other related tasks as required and responsible for reporting and communication of progress and achievement of the specific assigned task
- Conduct all duties in a professional manner following ACTED staff regulations and policies
- Be flexible and adaptable with regards to the implementation of the daily work
Accountability to Communities and Beneficiaries
The staff member is responsible for ensuring that all relations with the communities we work are conducted in a respectful and consultative manner. Due attention must be paid to ensuring that communities are adequately consulted and informed about ACTED programme objectives, activities, beneficiary selection criteria, and methodologies. This is the responsibility of every ACTED staff member.
