Job Description:

OVERVIEW OF POSITION


This position is part of the management team of the EU-funded Programme for Improved Nutrition in Sindh (PINS), nutrition specific project covering 10 districts of Sindh as per the Accelerated Action Plan for Malnutrition and Stunting in Sindh. This is a consortium based project with three co-applicants (RSPN, PPHI and Concern Worldwide) and a range of other government partners.


This is a field based position responsible to work under the leadership of Division Manager and provide support in of the operations of PINS in the districts of administrative division of Hyderabad which include districts Dadu, Jamshoro, Thatta, Sujawal, TMK, TAY and Matiari. It is intended that the staff member will be hosted within Government office in division Hyderabad.  The role of Assitant Divisional Manager, will be to provide support in organisation of district level meetings of partners and with external stakeholders, support in coordination with district level matters and representation as directed by Divisional Manager.  This position will also be involved in conducting field level monitoring and reporting to Divisional Manager. The position is expected to spend 60% of time in field.


OBJECTIVES


Objective 1


To provide support to Divisional Manager Hyderabad in managing tasks.


Tasks & responsibilities


·         To document and share the details of working groups under the guidance of relevant government bodies.


·         To ensure that ER2 is explained and projected properly at all relevant forums.


·         To support Divisional Manager in convening meetings, visits and update plans.


·         To provide an over view of ground situation through conducting field visits.


·         To support Division Manager in conducting reviews of progress as per DIP and document any shortcomings/challenges.  


·         Support Divisional Manger in overseeing security implementation and reporting at the district level;


·         To support in facilitation, the visits of district, provincial, capital or HQ related staff. Allocate 60% of time to field visits;


·         Ensure support for surveys or any emergency assessment on ad hoc basis.


Objective 2


To provide support to Divisional Manager in coordination and representation at the divisional and district level


Tasks & responsibilities


·         To prepare periodic and ad hoc planning for meetings of Divisional Manager with external stakeholders including other PINS programmes, Government of Pakistan counterparts (LHWs, DOH, AAP, security referents);


·         In the absence of Divisional Manager representation of the project and Action Against Hunger at province (for the division), divisional and district level;


·         To support in preparations of briefings and presentations for relevant meetings;


·         To support in preparing contact details of colleagues and stakeholders.


Objective 3


To support Government of Pakistan counterparts deliver the AAP


Tasks & responsibilities


·          To prepare briefings on progress with consultation of government bodies related to AAP at district and divisional level.


·          To facilitate meetings at the divisional level as required through sending invitations and arranging venues.


·          To prepare and arrange schedule for exposure and monitoring visits of concerned AAP departments for demonstration purposes.


Objective 4 (Gender)


To ensure inclusion across programming and within/by the team

·          Ensure inclusion within programme planning, implementation and reporting;

POSITION REQUIREMENTS


Mandatory


·         Master's Degree in relevant field Minimum 04 years of overall experience and 02 years in relevant field in development sector OR Bachelor's degree in relevant field with minimum 06 years overall expereince with 04 years in relevant field in development sector


·         Good written and verbal communication in English;


·         Nutrition specific or public health qualification;


·         Experience working in nutrition specific or public health roles;


·         Experience working within complex matrix based organizational structures;


·         Excellent interpersonal skills


·         Good resource and time management skills


·         Computer literate, knowledge of MS Word and Excel required


·         Experience working in Sindh


Preference


·         Sindhi language skills;


·         Experience within a large national or international organization;


·         Experience working in development projects


·         Experience working closely with Government of Sindh.
