| Job Description: |
Médecins Sans Frontières is a private medical international humanitarian organization dedicated to providing medical assistance to populations in crisis, without discrimination and regardless of race, religion, creed or political affiliation.
MAIN RESPONSABILITIES
- Providing technical expertise in the domains of gynaecology and obstetrics
- Participating in the rounds carried out in the different hospital units: maternity department and IPD
- Carrying out certain consultations and practicing delicate technical acts if necessary
- Discussing particular cases with the health care team (decision to carry out a caesarean, specific treatments)
- Checking that medical protocols and prescriptions are followed b in accordance with MSF guidelines
- In collaboration with midwife ensuring the quality of obstetrical care in Maternity department
- Checking that the hygiene procedures are followed in order to limit infection risks
- In Operation Theatre
- Carrying out elective and emergency surgical interventions in accordance with MSF protocols
- Carrying out the patients pre-operative consultations before they undergo surgery
- Evaluating the risks of operating in collaboration with the anaesthesiologist
- Monitoring the application of hygiene protocols in theatre (decontamination, sterilisation, etc.)
- Post-operative care
- Carrying out joint rounds in the IPD in collaboration with the anesthetist
- Guaranteeing the application of MSF protocols and the rational use of medicines
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Essential skills
- Doctor Degree. MCPS or FCPS (Gynecology), PMDC registered
- Clinical experience at Gynaecological - Obstetrical department
- Fluent in English, Pashto and Urdu
- Good clinical skills and surgical skills (C-section, Hysterectomy etc.)
- Desirable skills: Teamwork, Flexibility, Patience, Diplomatic communication, Commitment, Reporting skills, Stress management
CONDITIONS
WORK LOCATION: Peshawar
CONTRACT: Positions of Daily Worker - short term contract in case of increase of activities or to cover maternity leaves
SHIFTS: Rotating (morning, afternoon, night shifts). Sitting shifts only (no on-call)
PROBABLE START DATE: As soon as possible
