Job Description: |
- Perform both simple refraction and cycloplegic examination on camps.
- Prescribe, fit, and adjust eyeglasses, contact lenses, and other vision aids.
- Diagnose ocular disease.
- Maintain accurate and confidential medical records of all vision assessments, prescriptions, treatments, and referrals provided during the camp session
- Provide advice to patients regarding vision and optical issues
- To perform Low vision assessment and provide rehabilitation services
- Educates and counsels patients on contact lens care, visual hygiene, lighting arrangements and safety factors.
- Refers patients to specialists and to relevant patient care components as appropriate.
- Provides patients undergoing eye surgeries, such as cataract and laser vision correction
- Assists with procedures and provides pre and post supportive care.
- Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement.
- Prescribe vision therapy or Orthoptics treatment to the patient of strabismus and amblyopic patients
- Advice and perform diagnostic tests/procedures like A /B-Scan, OCT, FFA, Perimetry, Corneal topography etc.
- Maintains infection control standards.
- Monitor and maintain all optometry equipment.
