Qvantel is seeking a skilled Database Administrator (DBA) to join our MS platform services team. In this role, you will take charge of a diverse range of databases, with a focus on NoSQL solutions like Cassandra.

Job Responsibilities:

• Be part of a global team managing databases like Postgres, MariaDB, Cassandra, and Redis.
• Focus on NoSQL databases, especially Cassandra, for installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Support all phases from design to deployment, updates, and 24/7 on-call support.
• Collaborate with internal teams, customers, and partners while enhancing your expertise.

Required Skills:

• Proven hands-on experience of Cassandra Database Administration, Apache Cassandra, Linux servers.
• Excellent knowledge of data backup, recovery, security, integrity and availability
• Experience of cloud technologies, especially AWS also container technology like Docker
• Solid understanding of TCP/IP
• Experience what challenges huge volumes (f. ex. 100 000 000 rows per day) bring to DBs
• Experience of automation tools and scripting, preferably Ansible Scripting skills: bash, python etc.

Required Experience:

• 8+ years of experience in the relevant field
• BSS (telco) experience
• Knowledge of programming languages like Python, Java, JavaScript, etc.
• Ability to be on-call and do some operational work outside of normal office hours as well travelling occasionally to customer site

Required Qualification:

• Bachelor's degree in any field
